Ministerium Medici Missionare - or shortly MMM - is a foundation dedicated
to support workers and organisations working in the field of medical missions
work.
Its purpose is to make known to all people the love of the Lord Jesus Christ.
MMM is registered in The Netherlands as a charitative foundation so that
donations are tax deductible.
Where did MMM spring from?
The deceased Professor Lindeboom started in 1962 this small foundation. In the
beginning its aim was to train Christian doctors in the developing world with
money from donations from Christian doctors in The Netherlands.
In 1963 the same Lindeboom founded a federation of associations of Christian
doctors in several countries. This federation has grown into the International
Christian Medical and Dental Association, the ICMDA.
The Dutch "Protestantse Christen Artsen Organisatie" or PCAO, that was
founded in 1955, is a longtime member of this federation. Because of its
international relations the PCAO changed its name into CMF-Nederland; CMF
means Christian Medical Fellowship.
Composition of the Board
MMM originated from PCAO and this still has its implication for the
composition of the board.
The financial support that MMM is able to give, originates from donations of
about 100 donors, from the contribution of PCAO, and from interest from the
possesions.
The board is composed today of the following persons:
-Henk Schaap, MD, surgeon, chairman
-Herman ten Hove, MD, general practitioner, secretary
-Albert M. Boeyinga, MD, general practitioner, treasurer
-Jan-Arie van Wijngaarden, MD, general practitioner
Present activities of MMM
Most medical missionaries that are supported by MMM work in Africa and
Asia. Many of the work has to be done "quietly" which means that we are not
mentioning them in our Year Report because of the political or religious
situation of their surroundings.
MMM will finish its activities in 2022, so it is no longer possible to request for support or donate.
Please contact us for any questions you may have.
